WASHINGTON LIONS CLUB
HERITAGE PARK
In 2001, the Lions Club landscaped the Heritage Railroad Park area just west of the railroad station. When the Washington Parks Department was searching for funds to landscape the Railroad Heritage Park, the Lions Club volunteered. With matching funds, the Lions contribution of $18,000 grew to over $36,000. This project is just one of many projects the Lions completed in their continuing efforts to improve the Washington riverfront. Every Christmas Season the Lions decorate the wrought iron fencing with garland and bows creating a festive welcome for Amtrak visitors to Washington, Mo.
